Using Your Blog As The Primary Affiliate Promotion Tool
As promotions go, having a blog keeps you on top of your promotions in a way, it helps you to archive your promotions and keep readers informed of your targeted offer, the trick though is not to present post after post of offers and sales pitches as this just gets you labelled as a spam merchant monkey and doesn’t do your reputation any good at all.
The need to create value should be your main focus for others who read your blog so in theory they will be so pleased with the content they would see how your information relates to your offer and therefore may be more inclined to buy, especially if you really push and provide the information that they need to solve their problems.
Marketers will tell you that with every great demand comes a desire to get that product that will improve someones life or help others towards their goals in some way, by thinking about your readers and future customers in ways you can service them is that way and the angle you write your entire blogs content.
Tackling the promotion of your blog is not for the faint hearted as it takes some time to get noticed and a commitment to get readers to your blog, by planning out your blog posts and marketing you will have success with the promotion of your blog and building up traffic to your valuable content.
I always view a blog as an archived library of information and resources and so why not target every bit of useful information that relates to your affiliate campaign and if you wanted to you could add free blogs just to add the real promotion sales copy, so it keeps your blogs content clean and free from sales literature.
People respond to blogs more these days as you can personalize your blog by mixing in your thoughts, opinions and even your own catchphrases so that your personality comes across to other readers. Recommendations and direct and personal opinions create discussion and debate so try and comment the commentors when readers provide their thoughts too.
If you did however want to add more promotional blog posts it is best to review your product that you are promoting as a whole and then each benefit you write blog posts detailing each specific benefit, this provides extra reading but it also provides detailed information for the reader but also for the search engines to pick it up an index your blog, just remember to optimize your blog posts for your taregeted keywords related to your affiliate campaign.
So blogging is an ideal and easy way to promote affiliate programs, it’s just the time consuming aspect of marketing and creating valuable content that is the most difficult for many new affiliate marketers starting out.
