Datafeeds are really something you should think about as an affiliate and I’ll most certainly tell you why. When you do normal affiliate code links to a product there is some chance that in the future that link could become out of date or inaccessable for many reasons, primarily the product has been discontinued or sold out or the affiliate program has been taken off the network for whatever reason.

And so a datafeed can replace this by providing dynamic feeds of the products that update from the main website sort of much like the Amazon Affiliate Program and their range of dynamic links.

This way your links never become out of date and will always show products or the links to them products on your website, to use datafeeds there is some technical know how that needs to be overcome though and you can ask your affiliate manager about how to do this if they do provide affiliate datafeeds that is.

Just imagine a whole online store that has 5000 online products or more and you have access to the datafeeds for those products, if you add really useful descriptive articles that relate to the products and provide useful content, then your pages will be optimized and relevant if you also take note of the keywords of your datafeed products.

To use datafeeds you will need a hosting account to upload the neccessary data feed files and this can be quite technical so always try and get to know your affiliate managers as they can be a great help with the technical side of things.
